Job Overview: The ideal candidate will be able to plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a K-8 school setting that guides, encourages and supports the academic development of all students, and simultaneously, create positive interactions with staff and peers.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials, classroom and lab equipment
-Establish and communicate clear learning objectives for all learning activities
-Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning among all students
-Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in the educational activities
-Identify and select appropriate resources to meet students' varying needs
-Observe and evaluate students' performance
-Clearly communicate homework policy, grading criteria for all assignments including test, assessments and quizzes
-If make-up work is allowed, explain details, terms and procedures
-Provide useful and timely feedback on all student work
-Use effective classroom management skills and techniques, while at the same time treating students with respect and dignity
-Communicate your behavioral expectations to both students and parents
-Adhere to school's disciplinary guidelines and policies
-Monitor and report tardies and excessive absenteeism to appropriate authority
-Maintain accurate records of students' progress and development
-Participate and support social events, student activities (including sports), attend all staff development, and other school functions as needed
-Keep current with best practices (including STEM) through workshops, seminars, networking, and team collaboration
-Be a solution seeker not a problem finder
-Other duties may be assigned as needed

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
-Bachelors Degree or higher from an accredited college or university (masters preferred)
-Credential in subject of preference (single or multiple subject)
-Relevant and verifiable teaching experience
-Appropriate knowledge of technology
-Meets professional standards as described by states and districts
-Must pass an extensive background investigation (includes fingerprinting)
-Current CPR
